| Bridging the Worlds of Economics and Spirituality |
Harmony Farm is pleased to offer a seminar that bridges the worlds of
economics and spirituality. Workshop leader, Alain Bolea, is a management
advisor who specializes in strategies integrating the necessity of “making money”
and the desire to “do the right thing.” Alain brings to us a depth of business experience acquired over 25+ years as a
banker on Wall Street, a CFO in Geneva, Switzerland, and a management
consultant to organizations as diverse as the World Bank, family businesses, and
not-for-profits. “Most people want to do the right thing in business,” observes Alain, “but they rarely
try because of a deeply-seated belief that values are incompatible with basic
economics.” In Alain’s workshop you will explore and dissolve the belief systems that create
tension between spirituality and business — beliefs such as “making money is a
good way to lose your soul” on the one hand, or “there is no room for kindness or
caring in business” on the other. Next, you will find the new, clear place within from which to make choices and
decisions from a grounded, rational center…where values are the guiding
principle, where it is clear that, although accounting numbers are valuable
pieces of input, they need not constrict your vision or determine your future. With clarity, knowledge and good humor (we are quite sure you will laugh), Alain
will lead participants through a process that reveals how values are not only
compatible with business, but the key to vibrant and successful organizations. You will develop and practice a new way to look at organizational success
factors. With this new conceptual tool, participants will learn to bridge the
apparent conflict between spirituality and business, and look at their own
organization in a fresh, comprehensive manner. Everyone will gain a new understanding of their opportunities to grow prosperity
and manage with less conflict. At the end of a day of intense hands-on learning,
participants will come away with a road map to guide the transformation of their
organizations. The following day, Alain will be available for private sessions to help individuals
who want to work in greater depth on the implementation of the conceptual
framework in their own setting. These sessions are optional and not included in
the workshop fee. Reservations can be made at registration or during the
workshop. Workshop Date: June 7, 2008
