We are honored to welcome Dr. Lauren Artress to Harmony Farm this Spring. Lauren’s love of working with the labyrinth has taken her all over the world. She founded Veriditas, The World-Wide Labyrinth Project in 1996 which is dedicated to introducing people to the healing, meditative powers of the labyrinth.
Veriditas offers a number of programs including School of the Sacred Feminine, Labyrinth Facilitator Training, Wisdom University, Women’s Dream Quests and other Pilgrimages and Workshops. For more details regarding their programs go to www.Veriditas.org.
Lauren is an Episcopal priest and a Canon of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. She received her Bachelors Degree in Special Education at Ohio State University, her Master’s Degree in Education at Princeton Theological Seminary and her Doctor of Ministry Degree in Pastoral Psychotherapy at Andover Newton School of Theology. Lauren trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute at the Institute of Religion and Health in New York City and held a private practice there from 1974 to 1986. She holds an honorary doctorate from The California Institute of Integral Studies and the Gandhi, King, and Ikeda Peace Award for her work in bringing people together in creative, peace-giving ways. The labyrinth at Harmony Farm was constructed in the Spring of 2006 by Marty Kermeen. It is made from pavers, forty-two feet in diameter, and is a replica of the Chartres Labyrinth in Chartres, France. Barbara Brewer, owner of Harmony Farm, had the profound experience of working with Dr. Lauren Artress and the labyrinth in Chartres, France last Spring. Now, two years from its creation at Harmony, we celebrate the labyrinth, Barbara’s journey, and our vision to share the healing with you.
