Meet Jan Lively

Jan Lively is a certified instructor of Zhineng Qigong (also known in the U.S. as Chi-Lel Qigong), a holistic practice that promotes health and healing. Jan has been teaching classes in the Dayton area over five years. Her training includes study with several Qigong masters, including Liu Yuan Tong, Mingtong Gu, and Luke and Frank Chan. She has traveled to China four times for advanced training.

Jan was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2001 and given a very poor prognosis. She began practicing Qigong and immediately experienced its benefits as her strength and energy improved even during chemotherapy treatments. She credits her long-term survival, improved health, and well-being to the daily practice of Qigong.

Jan is also one of the co-founders of The Noble Circle Project for Women Surviving Cancer, which promotes self-healing through Qigong, Whole Foods Nutrition, and Group Support.

Zhineng Qigong is an ancient meditative exercise from China that, with daily practice, creates a healthy mind, body and spirit by cultivating and balancing an internal energy call Qi (chee). Qigong is easy to learn and can be adapted to any level of physical ability.

Regular Qigong practice has been shown to reduce stress, relieve chronic pain, strengthen the body, stimulate the immune system, increase blood circulation & cardiovascular fitness, improve creativity & mental clarity, relieve insomnia and develop emotional well-being. It is especially beneficial for anyone recovering from serious illness or chronic conditions, including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, auto-immune disorders, and arthritis.
